Spring Curriculum Update

Language Arts:  We are reading By the Great Horn Spoon in class.  It is our second core literature book and ties in with Social Studies.  Also, we are writing stories and poetry over the next few months.  The creativity is flowing!   Our pen pals just sent us letters and we are hoping to see pictures of their rural town soon.    

Math:  The focus of Unit 7 will be on fractions and probability.  The students will be practicing fractions as parts of a whole, ordering fractions, identifying eqivalent fractions, and reviewing basic probability.  Remember to keep practicing facts at home.
Social Studies:  We are beginning a look at the California Gold Rush!  
Science:   We have begun a unit on rocks and minerals.  We will be identifying minerals and learning about rock types this month.    Click on the Science tab for a preview!
